Our meat and seafood are frozen to lock in freshness and shipped with the perfect amount of dry ice, calculated by our algorithm for weather and distance, and based on 10 years of delivering frozen meat and seafood to our member's doorsteps. It's normal for the dry ice to have mostly evaporated by the time you receive your order, but if your box arrives with dry ice, be sure to always handle with care. Use protective gloves, oven mitts, or a towel to protect your skin. Prolonged contact can cause an injury similar to a burn.
How to safety dispose of dry ice:
- Do let dry ice evaporate in a well-ventilated area that is not accessible to children or pets.
- Don't dispose of dry ice in the sink or toilet. Don't place dry ice directly on your countertop. Don't dispose of dry ice in the trash or garbage.
