Our meat is frozen at the peak of freshness and individually vacuum-packaged.
All of our boxes are shipped with a specific amount of dry ice that's carefully calculated based on your geographic location. It's not unusual for the dry ice to be completely evaporated by the time it arrives at your door, leaving just an empty bag. As the dry ice evaporates, it mixes with the air inside the box which continues to keep the meat frozen even after it is completely gone.
You'll receive a tracking number the night your box ships, and your box should arrive 1 - 3 days after. Look for your box on its due date and refrigerate as soon as possible. Your ButcherBox is guaranteed when retrieved on the delivery date.
Orders are shipped in a cardboard shipping box which is sealed with a plastic overlay. Our liners are made of PET. PET can be recycled and reprocessed back into a clean raw material.
Your ButcherBox meat should arrive frozen.
In the event of a carrier delay which results in the order being delivered at an unsafe temperature, or if there is damage to the shipping box that results in our meat arriving at an unsafe temperature, or if you feel your order is compromised or unsafe in any way, please email firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
