We ship Monday - Friday with deliveries occurring Tuesday - Saturday. At this time we aren't able to offer a choice of or guarantee delivery on a specific day of the week. Transit time once shipped is 1-2 day ground for the majority of our shipments, with a few outlying areas being 3-day ground. Shipments are prioritized by zip code/transit time and the day of the week the order is transmitted to the fulfillment center serving your area.
We currently ship from three fulfilment centers servicing the following areas (some exceptions may apply).
West Coast orders ship out of California via FedEx Home or OnTrac (carrier based on the zip code)
North East and upper Midwest orders ship out of Deleware via FedEx home.
South East and lower Midwest states ship out of Florida via FedEx Home.
We recommend using your home address for shipping to avoid any shipping issues due to limited business hours and closures due to holidays. A signature is not required for home delivery. For business deliveries, the carriers require a signature and will not leave the box if the business is closed or no one is available to sign. Deliveries delayed due to business closures are not guaranteed.
Each ButcherBox is shipped in an insulated, eco-friendly, carrier approved box. Dry ice is used to keep your ButcherBox cold during transit and after delivery for several hours. The amount of dry ice in each box is calculated based on the transit time and the location of the delivery. As dry ice evaporates, it mixes with the air inside the box and continues to keep the meat cold even after it's completely gone. It's not unusual for the dry ice to be completely evaporated, leaving just an empty bag on the guaranteed delivery date.
Once your order is in transit you will receive an email with the tracking number titled Your Next ButcherBox is on its way! This email is transmitted the morning after the order ships and tracking is posted in your account page under shipments at that time as well.
